Identifying Characteristics
- Mice can measure anywhere from 5 to 7 inches in length nose to tail
- Typically dark gray or light brown with a light grey underbelly
- Their tails are generally furry compared to a rat’s naked tail
- Their average territory is a 30 foot radius from nest
Active Season
- Mice do not have a specific active season but are active year-round
- When living indoor and in ideal conditions a mouse has about a 1 year lifespan
- A female can have about 8-13 litters in a lifetime

- The word “mouse” derives from the word “thief”
- A single female mouse can produce over 120 mice in one year
