- They are light tan and have distinguishable red eyes
- They tend to be seen around ripe-rotting vegetation

- Average adult lifespan of a Fruit Fly is 1-2 weeks
- An adult female will lay up to 500 eggs
- Eggs are laid in rotting fruits and vegetables to act as food for the pupating flies
- Peak season is late summer through early fall
