Drugstore Beetles : What you need to know
Identifying Characteristics
- The Adult Drugstore Beetle is oval shaped and generally 4 millimeters in length, while the larva measure 2-4mm in length and are “C” shaped
- They are light brown in color
- They are found in cabinets, pantries and anywhere else food is stored
- The Drugstore Beetle is similar in appearance to the Cigarette Beetle, but is more slender
Active Season
- They are active indoors year-round, but tend to be noticed more in winter

- Drugstore Beetles are the most common stored food pest in the world
- They will feed off all types of plant material especially foods that are prepped for storage
- They are often confused with Cigarette Beetles
