Asian Lady Beetles: What you need to know
Identifying Characteristics
- Asian Lady Beetles are a light brown or orange color with black or brown spots
- They are most often found near window sills when found inside
- Asian Lady Beetles are orange vs. the candy apple red color of Ladybugs, and generally have many more black spots than a Ladybug
Active Season
- Asian Lady Beetles are most active during the Spring and Summer
- They will also be found indoors beginning in the Fall for overwintering

- Asian Lady Beetles are also known as Ladybird beetles
- They were introduced into North America in order to control the aphid population
Cause for Concern
- Asian Lady Beetles have been known to bite humans at times
- They can be found in large swarms even during the winter months
